DMC Is Committed to Charitable Foundations
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Foundation (Foundation) is the charitable giving arm of Deseret Management Corporation (DMC). Funding for the Foundation originates from the for-profit businesses affiliated with the LDS Church. Since 1981, the Foundation has been supporting charitable organizations and worthwhile causes both locally and nationally. Funding for programs and projects are based on the core values of enriching peoples’ lives and giving back to the community. Contributions are made to organizations primarily involved in health and human services, civic and community programs, educational programs and the arts.
Bonneville Charitable Foundation (BCF) provides donations to charitable organizations with consistent values and missions of DMC. BCF is a public foundation. It receives cash contributions from individuals and organizations. Some of the programs and campaigns whose funds are housed in BCF are KSL’s Quarter’s for Christmas, the Light the World campaign, Primary Children’s telethon, Wednesday’s Child, Read Today and the Sterling Scholar program.
Chapters of Hope (CH) is a non-profit organization (tax deductible) owned and operated by Deseret Book. 100% of the donations go to the purchase and transportation of educational and religious books and values-based media. In some circumstances, the funds are used to translate gospel classics into requested languages. These books are then donated. CH funds are also used to provide educational grants to the needy.
